20.00 – 21.00, Wednesday 23 May 2012 , The Fish Factory, Falmouth
Flash guns fired wildly as our team of fashion photographers captured the final year collections by students from BA(Hons) Fashion Design and Performance Sportswear during our annual Fashion Show, ‘A Different Perspective’ at the Fish Factory in Falmouth.
Diverse ranges included: high-end elegant couture, funky casualwear, contemporary equestrian clothing and football kits designed specifically for varying British and international climates.
A total of 37 collections were modelled by young Cornish men and women in front of audiences made up of schools and colleges from Cornwall, family and friends and representatives from the fashion, sports and leisurewear industries across Cornwall, London and Europe. Among the 51 industry contacts present, UCF welcomed fashion agent Thida Hawkins from Denza International – a renowned fashion recruitment agency – and guest of honour Orsola De Castro, described by The Daily Telegraph’s fashion pages as “the ethical fashion designer” and founder of the clothing company ‘From Somewhere,’ which makes clothes out of recycled offcuts of luxury materials.
“I’m in awe of this place,” Orsola De Castro exclaimed while at the show. “The level of all collections is great and the enthusiasm of the students and staff is infectious”.
